Join us for the grand opening of Goodwill of Southern Arizona’s first Boutique store! Good Threads; a Goodwill Boutique opens Thursday, April 4th @ 10am. The store is located at 7366 N Oracle Rd, #190. We’ve made it even easier to find name brand fashionable clothes, accessories, and furnishings. Plus you feel good knowing your purchase helps provide jobs, services and training right here in Southern Arizona!

Prom-o-ramaProm-O-Rama, which took place February 23 from 10am-2pm, was deemed a success. Tucson College helped collect more than 575 prom dresses that were gathered from women in Tucson and surrounding areas that wished to sell dresses, and from organization that also sold and donated dresses.

This was a community service event to help teenage girls and their families find a beautiful dress at a cost they could afford. All dresses were priced between $0 - $150. Dresses that were donated were given to girls for free! Some of the dresses were brand new with the tags still on them. Others were gently worn.

Goodwill of Southern Arizona was honored to participate in such an event. All in an effort to help keep costs down for Pima County high school girls who planned on attending their proms.

2 - Goodwill  Congressman Grijalvas Office

Over 1,600 job seekers from all over the Tucson area turned out for the Goodwill of Southern Arizona Community Job Fair. The event took place on Friday, January 11th at the El Pueblo Education Center.

Both Goodwill and Congressman Grijalva’s office were very pleased with the event.

The forty-four companies represented at the event conducted preliminary interviews or passed on information to job seekers. Employers on hand were from industries all across Tucson: Government, Education, Health Care, Call Centers, Drivers, Hospitality, Retail, Placement Agencies and many more.

The Goodwill Job Connection Center staff was able to assist 70 attendees during the job fair. They reviewed employment opportunities with quality applicants, each in a wide variety of fields.

If you didn't make it to the fair, you can get assistance with your job search through any of five the Goodwill Job Connection Centers in Southern Arizona.

The Community Job Fair was brought to you by Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona and the Office of Congressman Raul Grijalva.

(June 8, 2012) – Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona will open its 12th area retail store and fifth Job Connection Center on Thursday, June 14th in Casa Grande. Doors will open to the public at 8:00am following a brief ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Casa Grande Mayor Bob Jackson.

 Goodwill stores are well known for selling gently used clothing and household items at affordable prices. Sales at the retail stores fund Goodwill’s mission of providing training, services and jobs for people with barriers to employment.

Goodwill created 25 jobs directly with the opening of this new store and will offer free job search assistance at its new Job Connection Center. Centers in Tucson, Benson and Sierra Vista had more than 11,000 visits in the last year. The Job Connection Center will be open Monday-Thursday from 9:00am-4:30pm.

Goodwill partner LINKAGES will have an office inside the store as well. LINKAGES works to match people with disabilities with area employers.

The 9,800 square foot store, located at 1325 E. Florence Boulevard (in the Fry’s Shopping Center), will be open Monday through Saturday from 8:00am-9:00pm and Sunday from 9:00am-7:00pm. They also accept donations during store hours. With rare exceptions, items donated in Casa Grande will stay in the area to help ensure that donors are helping people in their community.
