Community Service with Goodwill

Goodwill gives those who have been court ordered to perform community service an opportunity to do something positive for their community.

We can provide adults ages 18+ with court-ordered community service with service hours, minimum of 10 hours.*

*Participants that have been convicted of crimes in the past 10 years related to theft, violence, or crimes of a sexual nature may be ineligible to complete volunteer/internship services with Goodwill.

A Coordinator will work with each individual to place them at a location/department that is most convenient for them and the site.

IF YOU INTERESTED IN DOING YOUR COMMUNITY SERVICE WITH GOODWILL, PLEASE COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS:

Step 1

Please read the Disclosure Form below. BACKGROUND CONSENT FORM

Step 2

 Please complete and submit the online APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE.

Once your application and background has been reviewed, you will be contacted within 48 hours and notified whether your volunteer service has been approved.

  •     If you are NOT approved, you will be contacted via email. Please check your email regularly.
  •     If you ARE approved, you will be notified via telephone to schedule a mandatory orientation.
  • Step 3

    After approval, attend Goodwill's volunteer orientation. Orientations are conducted every other Thursday of each month from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and are held at the corporate office.

    The corporate office is located at 1940 E. Silverlake Rd., Ste. 405 (one quarter mile south of 22nd & Cherrybell). Please call (520) 623-5174 if you need directions.

     

    Dress Code when Volunteering or performing Community Service:

    Dress code is business casual. If dress code is not appropriate you will be asked to return another day.

  • No dangling jewelry and visible facial jewelry(forward of the ears) is not permitted and must be removed.
  • No shorts, skorts, or skirts
  • No Jeans, sweat, or stretch pants
  • No tank tops
  • No Hats/Visors-unless otherwise indicated by your volunteer coordinator.
  • No clothes that are too baggy or too revealing

    Volunteering with Goodwill

    Being part of the Goodwill Team is about helping other people. When you volunteer with Goodwill of Southern Arizona, you help the organization achieve its mission of putting people back to work!We welcome volunteers from a variety of sources:*

  • High Schoolers. Goodwill partners with several schools to help students identify career interest(s), assess employability skills and develop skills and attitudes necessary for employment.
  • Adults ages 18+. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn about our programs and do something positive for our community. Volunteering is also an opportunity if you are considering a career change, are currently retired, are currently unemployed, or simply want to fill in some spare time.
  • Mature Workers (Adults ages 55+). Volunteering can provide part-time community service training and enhance abilities, skills, and aptitudes to obtain employment.
