Ready-to-Earn Computer / Customer Service Training

 

August_2011_Graduation_ClassGOODWILL'S READY-TO-EARN COMPUTER/CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING is a program (NOT A JOB OFFER) specifically designed to provide unemployed and underemployed individuals with the entry-level skills needed for successful employment in Tucson’s Call Center Industry with starting wages of $8.50 - $14.00 per hour.  The training is provided in part by the City of Tucson.

Goodwill consults with area Call Center employers to update the training curriculum.  Through our Business Advisory Council, Goodwill maintains contact with these employers and revises the training curriculum based on changes in the employers' entry-level requirements.

The Ready-to-Earn Training program is highly respected by area employers and has won three national awards. This program is accredited under CARF-the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities-Employment Skills Training and licensed by the Arizona Board for Private Postsecondary Education.


TRAINING (NOT PAID) is 4-WEEKS, 100 Hours
Monday to Friday   9am-2pm
LOCATION: Goodwill’s Career Training Center 1940 E. Silverlake
Suite #405 (SW Corner of Silverlake & Cherrybell)

 
REQUIREMENTS NEEDED
(To Attend A Screening Session)
• Must be 18 yrs or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Speak & Read English fluently and at 8th Grade Reading & Comprehension Level
• Motivation to seek employment immediately & succeed in the Call Center Industry
• Able to pass criminal background (NO Theft, Violent or Crimes of Sexual Nature)

Steps in Process:

  1. If you meet all eligibility requirements for the program and would like to apply for training.
  2. Review the 2011 Training Schedule Link below for class dates.
  3. Call 520-409-6230 to schedule a screening session.
  4. Download application, fill it out and bring it to your scheduled screening.
  5. Attend scheduled screening session (see below).
  6. A review committee evaluates all applications, assessments, interview results and potential for hire to select the final candidates
  7.  All applicants will be notified of results by email, mail or phone.         
     

3 Hour Screening Session Includes

  •    Review Call Center Industry PowerPoint Presentation (30 minutes)
  •    Nelson Denny Testing: (15 minute Vocabulary Test) & (20 minute Comprehension Test)
  •    1 minute Typing Test online (5 minutes)
  •    Customer Service Quiz (5 minutes)
  •    Computer Skills Quiz online (20 minutes)
  •    Review the application with each applicant (45 minutes)
